JENNA PEKNY
Hello! Thank you for visiting my site. If we are not already acquainted, here's just a little about me to get us started.
I am a stage and film actor in the Southern California area as well as a director, teacher, and editor. Some of my previous acting credits include The Revolutionists (Charlotte), Little Women (Jo), First Date (Casey), and The Full Monty (Georgie). Directing credits include An Ideal Husband and Almost, Maine. Storytelling, to me, is the best way to communicate ideas to one another because a good story is captivating. And when we're actually leaning in to listen is when we might just learn that our take on the world is ready to adapt, shift, and mold to new understandings. My background in linguistics came from this desire to lean into stories that differ from my own and examine the cultural depth of language.
Currently, I am enriching my work as an artist by training in the Meisner and Chekhov techniques at MCIAT, a San Diego-based acting studio renowned for integrating these two approaches.
On an average day you may find me at the gym, catching up on reading at the park, lounging about with my cat, Kady, or playing a tender new melody on guitar in a cast of sunlight from my south facing windows.
Now, I would love to get to know you! There is a contact option at the end of my page. Please, reach out.
A favorite quote of mine:
“Maybe we are all fire wrapped in skin, trying to look cool.”
― Glennon Doyle, Untamed

MY MISSION
The intersection of creative arts, performance, and language, alongside my love, and frankly need, for genuine human connection makes up the guiding force that empowers my work today. Art has many purposes, the art that I choose to partake in seeks to do something upon those that are kismet enough to have experienced it.
Through my incessant pursuit to make this craft my life's focus, I have discovered the merit of the many facets of this art form beyond acting: teaching, writing, directing, and evermore learning.
